Maison Forestier has launched the Solis collection, created by designer Jette Scheib. This series of pendant lights combines natural fibers with geometric shapes. The luminaires utilize hand-woven raphia to create a soft glow, mimicking the warmth of daylight. By stretching the organic material across rigid metallic frames, the collection introduces visual depth, with silhouettes that shift subtly from different angles.

Jette Scheib has a long-standing partnership with Maison Forestier, having previously contributed to the brand's identity through various notable collections. After training at the University of the Arts in Berlin, Scheib's design philosophy for Solis harmonizes nature with graphic lines, striking a balance between modern aesthetics and traditional craftsmanship.

The production of the Solis collection is deeply tied to a fifteen-year collaboration with workshops in the Philippines, where weaving and basketry techniques are honed across generations. The process emphasizes natural raphia, a living plant fiber grown in sunlight, which is painstakingly hand-woven over metal structures. This craftsmanship requires meticulous attention to detail, resulting in a gentle glow as light filters through the weave. Fine black edging highlights the organic forms, adding to their uniqueness.

Each piece displays the subtle irregularities of raphia, ensuring every luminaire is one-of-a-kind. Available in diameters from 40cm to 100cm, the pendants embody a timeless presence, suitable for both contemporary and rustic settings.
