GE Lighting, a division of Savant, showcases several advanced smart lighting options, including under-cabinet lights designed to eliminate shadows in kitchens and other areas. During Prime Day, the 12-inch-wide light bar is available for $30.37, reflecting a 25% discount.
For those needing a wider coverage, up to 10 light bars can be connected and controlled as a single unit. These lights are dimmable and feature full-color options, including tunable white temperatures, and are certified to work within the Apple Home ecosystem via Matter compatibility. Users can manage the lights through any smart speaker or the GE Lighting app.
In May, I rated the 18-inch model with a TechHive Editors’ Choice Award, although only the 12-inch version is currently on sale. The lights can be plugged into a standard wall outlet or hardwired for a more permanent installation. I chose to install mine under an invisible shelf to illuminate my kitchen counters, but they can also be positioned on top of cabinets to light ceilings.
Installation is straightforward, aided by captive self-tapping screws that negate the need for pilot holes. Additionally, the option to daisy-chain up to 10 lights allows for unified control via buttons on the bars, the GE Cync app, or a smart speaker once connected to Wi-Fi.
The 12-inch model offers a maximum brightness of 750 lumens, or 630 lumens with GE Lighting’s Reveal setting.
