The Bloom lighting collection by Hwang Bishop features 16 hand-crafted pieces that draw inspiration from desert botanicals and wind-carved dunes. Based in Rhode Island, the studio’s founder, Felicia Hwang, introduces this collection alongside a new Matte Glaze Palette, a notable shift from her traditional gloss glazes.

Handmade in Warren, Rhode Island, every fixture retains the textured marks of craftsmanship, resulting from the clay shaping process. The ceramics undergo multiple firings and glazing, achieving a mineral-like and ethereal quality that enhances the lighting's presence in any room. Alongside the core collection, Hwang presents a unique multi-tier Bloom chandelier that showcases cascading ceramic shades on a brass armature, amplified by the new soft matte finishes.

The collection includes a variety of lighting options such as sconces, pendants, flush mounts, chandeliers, and table lamps. Notable models include Anthesis (12-globe), Cascade (6-globe), Garland (6-globe), Equilibrium (2-globe), and Ikebana (5-globe). The pieces anchor each form with brass hardware, and since they are made to order, customers can request custom sizes and finishes.

The design of the table lamps elevates their practical function with unique forms, resembling blossoms or mushrooms, and comes in various earthy colors. Each silhouette encapsulates the interplay between precision and imperfection that characterizes Hwang's aesthetic.

The Matte Glaze Palette, available in nine colors—Meadow Moss, Arctic Sky, Midnight, Crowberry, Lava Glow, Golden Hour, Glacial Blue, Ash, and Kaffi—focuses on non-reflective finishes inspired by natural landscapes. This palette seeks to deepen the relief, shadow, and texture of the pieces, establishing a unified design language for Hwang Bishop's offerings.

With Bloom, lighting transcends mere functionality, serving as an artistic exploration of touch and shadow, while embodying the beauty of natural growth and the human experience in design.
