IKEA has introduced the KOLBJÖRN cabinet, a slim and weatherproof storage solution designed for compact outdoor spaces. Priced at £159, it offers a more affordable option compared to traditional garden sheds, making it an ideal addition for small gardens and balconies.
Measuring 90x161 cm, the KOLBJÖRN cabinet features a modern urban industrial design suitable for limited spaces. It includes ventilation holes to promote airflow and prevent dampness, and adjustable feet for stability on uneven surfaces. To enhance safety in households with children or pets, it is recommended to anchor the cabinet using furniture straps.
The cabinet is equipped with three large hooks and shelving, providing ample storage for outdoor cushions, garden tools, and toys. However, it may not accommodate larger items like typical lawnmowers. For those needing to store more bulky tools, alternatives like the Keter Store It Out Midi, priced at £130, may be more suitable.
Currently, the KOLBJÖRN has received two reviews, which are generally positive but highlight challenges with assembly. Users have noted that while the assembly instructions can be confusing, the cabinet proves useful and sturdy once put together.
IKEA's innovative approach addresses the challenges of storage in small gardens, paving the way for a more organized outdoor experience. In addition to the KOLBJÖRN, other compact storage options are available, including metal and wooden features from various brands, making it easier for homeowners to manage their outdoor spaces.
