Sustainable design studio ZBOZHZHA has unveiled its first collection of pendant lamps, inspired by nature and the aesthetics of Japanese wabi-sabi. The Pershy and Patchvara lamps are eco-friendly and biodegradable, crafted from a unique combination of recycled cardboard, clay, and minerals. Available in various textures, sizes, and colors, these lamps feature organic forms that highlight the beauty of imperfections inherent in handcrafted designs.

Co-founders Ivan Kruk and Mikhail Moyseyuk developed a proprietary blending technique to create an environmentally conscious material while allowing for artistic expression. Their experimentation with composition produced a fabric that references natural inspirations—such as tree bark, sea foam, and animal fur—inviting both visual and tactile interaction.

The lamps, although visually simple, undergo a complex creation process entirely conducted by hand. Each piece involves multiple steps of shaping, drying, and texture application, resulting in unique finishes that reflect individual craftsmanship. The collection is primarily designed for interiors embracing wabi-sabi but is versatile enough to complement various decor styles. Moyseyuk suggests that combining multiple sizes and textures of the Pershy lamps can enhance the overall aesthetic of a space.

In addition to pendant lamps, ZBOZHZHA plans to expand its product line with vases and home décor items made from recycled cardboard and chamotte clay, furthering their commitment to eco-friendly practices and nature-inspired design.
