This week features a range of innovative lighting designs from Europe.
Ingo Maurer, a German design brand, has unveiled Nalum, a pendant light by designer Sebastian Hepting. This design reflects the dynamic interplay of light and the movement of waves on water through its floating glass tube, creating captivating patterns of light.
Lodes has introduced the Tidal collection in collaboration with Needs Studio, themed around ocean waves. This die-cast aluminum luminaire takes the form of a ring, varying in width to represent high and low tides. Its unique design offers different perspectives based on the viewer’s position, includes the ability to be dimmed via a wall switch, and is available in four finishes, either as a ceiling mount or pendant.
From Portugal, Ginger & Jagger presents The Etna, a floor lamp inspired by natural forms. This slender lamp, made of marble, mimics the flow of lava, with a channel running through it that serves as the light source.
Foscarini has launched the Asteria chandelier, designed by Alberto and Francesco Meda. This modern interpretation of the multi-arm chandelier simplifies the structure by focusing on the curved aluminum arms that house the light sources. A recessed LED at the base provides a concentrated beam of light, with individual dimming options for both the arms and the spot.
