Fox ESS, a leader in renewable energy solutions, has unveiled the Power Cube, a comprehensive residential energy storage system that integrates both inverter and battery functions into a compact, stackable design. This innovation is tailored for efficiency, allowing Australian households to better manage their energy consumption while providing flexibility for future needs.
The introduction of Power Cube comes after SunWiz reported that Fox ESS secured the top position in Australia for installed energy storage capacity in the first half of 2026. The company's emphasis on a streamlined design aims to simplify installation and potentially reduce associated costs. The modular EQ5500 batteries, which come with storage capacities ranging from 10.92 kWh to 49.14 kWh, allow homeowners to customize their system based on energy requirements.
Brooks Richard, Managing Director of APAC & Middle East at Fox ESS, stated that the Power Cube was specifically designed with the Australian market in mind. It offers high round-trip efficiency and a variety of capacities to align with household energy needs in conjunction with available battery rebate tiers. The integrated design is intended to make installation easier for contractors.
Key features of the Power Cube include:
- Power options catering to various homes, with single-phase models available from 5–12 kW (CEC Approved) and upcoming three-phase models set for 5–15 kW, accommodating up to 200% PV oversizing.
- Indoor and outdoor installation capabilities supported by a compact, integrated design and an IP66 rating.
- An integrated gateway providing 63A on-grid full-home backup.
- Enhanced battery protection through inter-cell insulation and an aerosol unit within each module.
- Integrated heating features to ensure optimal battery performance in colder weather.
- Fox Cloud 2.0, offering AI capabilities for real-time monitoring and remote configuration, alongside Wi-Fi, LAN, and Bluetooth connectivity.
With a 10-year product warranty, Power Cube aims to combine ease of installation, expandable storage, and intelligent energy management in a single residential solution, catering to both installers and homeowners as their energy needs evolve.
